Not a rant

All my posts so far seem rather negative, particularly since they all contain the tag 'rant'. Also, 'rant' appears alone on the side bar by virtue of being the only label occurring more than twice on my entire blog.

I don't mean to sound so bitter about things.

Still, I only started posting things on here two days ago. Perhaps either I or the rest of the world will be looking up a bit by next week.

This post will have happy labels.

Note one of your posts was left at 02:59. Man I wish I could stay up that late these days.

By the time you get to my age petal, all these highly popular/political topics become less than mundane - it's all about fighting scythie man after 40. Y'all be talking GL diets an' all dat in a few years mon. Am currently eetin' all deeze seeds ya - dey makin' me all crazy in ma heed. I'm actually an upstanding member of the civil service. None of us are normal - shit - sandwich man's here - I got no money!!!!!

Ah cool, sum1 lent me some. I now got meself a nice chicken (probably 100% mechanically recovered) tikka salad. Yummy.

Later - lovely blog an' all dat mon. Be havin' a sunny one.

Yeah the times are all out on here - I think it's an American site so it displays the time in Boston or somewhere rather than GMT.

I'm not convinced that everyone becomes disillusioned with politics/wanting to change the world, though I can see why people do, and the chances are I probably will too.

My landlady, though, is 71 and was recently arrested for standing outside the Houses of Parliament protesting against the war in Iraq, is an active member of various political/campaign groups and is more active than a lot of people my own age that I know.

I hope I'm like that when I'm 71.

Keep checking - I might post something about Weight Watchers, arthritis, house prices or the weather some time soon ;)

Oh.

The lack of interest is probably more about dissollusionment than anything else - it takes me all my time to work up the energy to get up in the morning - let alone be arrested for being a crazy old coot.

She sounds cool though. I'm currently on a mission to get my car tax sorted and fill in a form to try and get some money, as I'm a pov - not a bankrupt one any more though!!! I was officially discharged from bankruptcy on 4th July. Truly, independence is mine once more. Although the car tax and TV licence could bankrupt me all over again. Is it just me, or is the TV licence even less justifiable than it used to be?? I mean, gone are the days when you could watch the odd episode of Mr Benn, which, in my humble opinion, was one of the best kids series ever made, and enjoy the unfettered freedon of a jolly nice time watching a badly drawn cartoon type blokey have adventures. Nowadays it's bloody mop & buckety tops or whatever they're called. And another thing - why can't people understand the difference between you're and YOUR!?!?!?!?! It's bloody annoying.

It's a sad fact that ranting is usually more interesting than... what's the opposite of ranting?

Look at the non-fiction chart - full of books with titles like "Is it me or is everything shit?"
